Discussing the problems of developing a theory of mind and related issues in cognitive science. We will discuss conflicting theories of mind, consciousness, perception, intentionality and personal identity.

What is it to have a mind? And what’s the difference between objects with minds like you and I and those without, such as grass and amoebas? Is it the complexity of behaviors? Is it the causal relation between mind and body? Is it simply having a brain with a certain organization? Or even having a material structure of carbon or silicon organized as a brain would be? The goal will be to examine each option carefully to find what can be said in defense of each.
